행정 간소화 조항 1996년 건강 보험 이동성 및 책임법(HIPAA) 의료 제공자를 위한 표준 고유 식별자의 채택을 의무화했습니다. NS 국가 계획 및 공급자 열거 시스템(NPPES) 의료 제공자에 대한 식별 정보를 수집하고 각각 고유한 할당 국가 제공자 식별자(NPI).
